Understanding EIGRP #1

prepared by SURAJ (imeansuraj@gmail.com) Replaced the Interior Gateway Routing Protocol It was Cisco proprietary till mid-2013. Doesn’t use UDP or TCP since it doesn’t need the port numbers to work with. It uses Cisco’s Reliable Transport Protocol (protocol number 88). Administrative Distance of a routing information from an EIGRP enabled router outside the Autonomous System is 170 and inside the Autonomous System is 90. Creates an autonomous system including all the routers that it wants to transfer data within, this autonomous system is of 16 bits. New metric of EIGRP is of 64 bits, the earlier composite metric of EIGRP was of 48 bits while IGRP had a metric of 24 bits Working -   Discovers neighbours by sending hello packets -   Exchanges information with hellos via 224.0.0.10 (multicast address for EIGRP) -   As soon as the router doesn’t receive them in the hold time it will drop the neighbour relationship called   adjacency   and EIGRP m...

KNOW the Pre-Marital Sex

Last night I was chatting with one of my female friends with usual banters and she suddenly got into how interesting her relationship's become with her new found boy-friend. When I further asked whether she had met the perfect husband in him, she said far from it. And she obviously is not the first person in my circle to say so. With widespread availability of contraceptives and condoms the times have definitely changed. One  doesn't  have to deal with issues revolving sex any more. Though it is still strongly frowned upon in the Islamic culture, Hindu culture is slowly opening up to it knowing there is no way out. I for one am completely for it. Marriages earlier was about finding the perfect mate in terms of financial security and social status. These parameter are hardly applicable these days. They have forayed one step further and now seek suitability in emotional, physical as well as sexual sense. They rarely have marriage on their cards every time they dive into a ...

Review: Interstellar (2014)

Image
Ambitious but no "2001"!  Score: 7/10 Nolan is always somebody to watch out for ever since his popularity soared with “ The Dark Knight ” trilogy. The box office success of a complex movie like Inception was proof enough. “ Interstellar ” was the most awaited film of the year for the thinking movie buffs' director and he clearly has delivered the expectations to a very large extent. The movie starts very slow trying to build upon the characters and allowing the audiences to develop a bond with their relations. It explains the need of travelling to the outer space and following the bread crumbs left to them by people they don’t know since the world is in a state of extinction for humans after the agriculture gets affected by Dwight. This first half is dedicated a lot to the relationship that the protagonist (Cooper), shares with his family, especially his daughter, who herself plays an important role in the film. The film might look a bit stretched here for...

And I Take Watching Movies Very Seriously.

Image
We Indians are just crazy about either of these three things: Food, Cricket or Films. I fall in the category of the latter. I watch films with no boundaries in particular, as long as they are offering me a work of art. From S-Korean dramas, Japanese anime , German, French, Spanish, to the coming of age Iranian films and obviously Hollywood. But Hindi films are slowly alienating me with its formulaic expressions meant to do the same things over and over. Hindi films started out as one of the earliest film industries in the second decade of the 20 th century but even the ten decades have seemed to be too little for their (very) gradual evolution. Their pathetic predictability and loud ways of depictions have made the typical Bollywood films loving audience addicted to it. Now they are so wired in that every time a director even tries to go outside the box they are punished with a poor box office run, which in turn makes the producers skeptical about putting their money for such a...

Flipkart was planning the greatest shopping day for India 2-3 months prior to the 6 th   of October, 2014, taking a leaf from the billion dollar sales of Alibaba.com (Chinese e-commerce giant). Understanding their plans Snapdeal also got themselves buckled up with a plan of their own, to attract the dejected from Flipkart . They named this day “big billion day” with the motive of bringing the billion dollar population of India for one purpose under one website. Their estimation team and think tank had predicted a customer inflow 20 times of the normal weekends. 5000 servers were deployed to handle the expected traffic. Many retailers were talked and asked to participate in this festival, to help them make the deals as juicier as possible. Looking at the returns Flipkart offered them, they were more than glad to be a part of it. The reason they (Sachin and Binny) say they chose this day was because they stayed in a flat with number 610 when they came up with the Flipkart ...

Know the Big Cats

Image
TIGER: Tiger is the largest of the cat family, but unfortunately its population has been diminishing at a very high rate. It is found the most in India (~1500). The Bengal tigers are the largest in size followed by the Siberian tigers and Indonesian tigers. JAGUAR: Their bite force is the strongest and  known to kill many animals purely by crushing   their skulls. It even has the ability to crack open the shell of a tortoise. They are mostly concentrated in the South America. They are the second most critically endangered big cats after the Tigers. LION : The king of the jungle are only kings because of their roars that can reach up to 114 decibels and can be heard distances of 8  kilometers . Their majestic body also gives them the name. They are the only cat family specie who are social. Surprisingly they were the second most populous mammals after humans until the ice age around 10,000 years ago. CHEETAH: Che...

Great! Really Great! - Chandrahas Rao (Literature Expert) Well written, Concise, Articulate and Presented tightly, keeps the readers interest constant. - Harsh Hirani (Microsoft Developer) Hats Off to the efforts! Definitely Merit Worthy! -Ronith Joy (Lawyer) When I stepped down the congested and stuffed airplane into the dark welcoming clouds of Muscat, I knew I’m in for a treat. My light luggage helped me be brisk and avoid flip flopping down the airspace. It was midnight yet the lights everywhere were so dazzling, it almost made me believe I’m in a concert hall. We had one more flight from Muscat to Salalah, the city where you will find everything, the tourism hub of the middle-east and my starting point of the Oman tour. After reaching Salalah, I felt I had arrived in a different country. They are just one and a half hours away by flight but by skyline they seem countries apart. Salalah has a unique quiet charm of its own. The airport there, is only as big as the railway...
