Why do I like to Blame this I?

Everything I touch, tomorrow dies, But then nothing stays always by. Still why do I like to blame this I? Everyone I love, away they shy, But then nothing good starts, full sunshine. Still why my fingers point me all time? I have thousand reasons to weep, But only few that makes my joy creep. Still why don’t I hold them and deep breathe? I go towards the beauty and seek: Unknowingly, the negative leak. Then why don’t I stitch the torn sheath? I always attract whom I detest And repel convincingly, very bests. Does beauty, in difficulty rest? -SURAJ (29/11/2013)

DEXTER Season Ranks

Image
Calculations based on IMDb episode ratings and Metacritic ratings: A+(B*10)+n where A is the metacritic ratings, B is the average of IMDb ratings of all episodes of the respective season and n is the percentile of number of critics from metacritic . 1. Season 2- Score: 180.2 At the start of Season 2, the psychological fallout from killing Brian (his brother) and the constant surveillance by Sgt. Doakes have resulted in Dexter having not killed anyone in more than a month. Furthermore, Dexter learns two upsetting things about Harry: that he was sleeping with Laura Moser, Dexter's biological mother, before she died and that, after walking in on Dexter in the middle of a kill, Harry committed suicide from the guilt. These discoveries cause his faith in The Code to waver, and Dexter imagines scenarios in which he turns himself in .   2. Season 4- Score: 176.8 Dexter went home to become a family man, and Rita has given birth to a baby boy ...

Review: Ship of Theseus (2013)

Image
An Enlightening Meditation Score:9/10 I have always based my analysis on cinematography the most, photography being my favorite hobby. But when you watch this you forget to keep tracks around some engaging dialogue volleys, not that they don’t have good, they do give us a lot of chance to indulge in that as well, especially the scenes of the monk’s walk which have been captured with overflowing confidence (winner of best cinematography in  Transylvania Film Festival ). The film is narrated in three stories, all equally deep and thoughtful based on the same theme of organ donation but speaking volumes about life and beyond. The audience will find themselves be pulled and absorbed as if they never were the audience but just another silent observer. The film overflows with honest depictions which is so rare in Indian films. The acting sets a benchmark for cinema world over. The dialogues are so immersing that you would want to have a say in the matter, even goi...

Review: Players (2012)

Image
These ' Players ' lose the game! Score:3/10 ' Players ' which is an official remake of ' The Italian Job ', clearly makes a fool out of itself. Though I tried my best to keep myself without comparing it with the original, compare or not, the film is like the kindergarten version of the classic. The acting lacks intensity, particularly from Sonam's end, only Neil Mukesh gets somewhere with his villainous act. The train robbery scene doesn't give any edge-of-the seat moments, making such an improbable task look like cake-walk. There are some insanely foolish humour, pushed inside the film, trying to make a masala-flick. The twists degrades the credibility of the film, making it a joke! The music is awful with laughable lyrics. But the only place where the film scores is with its cinematography, because there are some moments which captures the scene beautifully. Director duo Abbas-Mustan easily did better with Race . In all, if you are looking ...

Review: DON 2 (2011)

Image
Don 2 may just be the movie to cure Ra.1 nightmares! Score:6/10  The movie clearly has raised the bar of Indian cinema, with action genre at least. Its punches, plot line and sharp editing makes it unarguably the best of the lot, so far (in bollywood). It starts with a bang on a contraband deal that goes wrong, in Thailand . The story then moves on to Malaysia , where Don surrenders himself to the interpol only to escape with Vardhaan to Germany . Here, the story develops around a mission of a near improbable heist. The movie doesn't waste much time before the robbery begins and with it the twists and turns. A refreshing take on car-chase sequences and some raw action keeps the movie upbeat. The downside would be Priyanka Chopra trying too hard to look serious and with her some other newbies as well. The background score was a major disappointment for its incapability to walk with the film's tone. The cheeky one-liners can make us laugh and also make us say, "...

Review: Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012)

Image
Silsila is still my favourite Yash Chopra film Score: 5/10 A movie after 8 years from the acclaimed personality, Yash Chopra , but is it really worth the wait? The answer is neither a complete yes nor a no. Technically the director has improved a lot in his movie making but still has not been able to use the story to its full potential mainly due to lazy editing and bollywood formulaic orientations. The story starts with Samar Anand ( Shahrukh Khan ), a high ranking army officer working with bomb disposal squad, who is aka "the man who cannot die" for his daredevil ways of diffusing bombs. Samar meets Akira ( Anushka Sharma ) while rescuing her from drowning and covers her with his jacket to keep her warm where he mistakenly leaves his diary. She starts reading it and this is where the whole story of his youth and love in London is conveyed. Akira works with the Discovery channel where she's permitted to shoot her dream documentary on the bomb disposal squa...

Flames Dance to Eternity

Image
I bathe in passions with flow of avalanche, Like a dry leaf gliding in the wind of dance, A woman lost in orgasmic romance, And flame freeing to eternal, from a lance. I am the music, who only breathes to be, Like waves of the ocean in pure harmony. Sensuality alone's the touch I feel And sway in its rhythm like my ever meal. -SURAJ (05/01/2010)

Drops of Echoes

It's a very dim rainy day, All looks so quiet and yet gay. For others I can't probably say, But I, on chair, by window, lay. The past echoes with childhood joys: Calls me to be free, one more time. An empty dream, I realize, And a tear rolls, "goodbye eyes..." It's nostalgic: the memories they bring. It's romantic: the life we hearty cling. "Why is life so mysterious being?" All I am answered is, rain can't sing! -SURAJ (09/06/2010)

Believing in SMILE

I'll pull out my eyes If they show fear. I'll chop my ears If discourage they hear. I will  cut my head off If they think worry: But never 'Believe' That puts me to bury! -SURAJ (14/11/2009)

Beauty! Beauty! Is all life!

One morning, as I woke up, The first rays of the sun, rub. Raising my arms to the sky, "Morning is so fresh", said I. I, just after a blink could see: My love standing right before me. We fell deep into each other's stare, Until a breeze touched my dreams aware! So I started for my vowed swear: To return with answers, my questions bear. Each step towards it, joy was proof in bit. "Shocked", my heart did, to read what the answers lit: I was again standing before my love's smile! I realized: We laugh-cry, we work-try, And still we finally are, where we said bye. Beauty of life is not the goal we pry, But the journey it gives with all the lows and highs. Life is a mystery, the secret it hides.... Now, my shoulders her head lovingly lay, right. I smiled, "Beauty! Beauty! Is all life!" -SURAJ (07/08/2010)

My Music Divine

Image
Oh Music! Oh Music, Divine! Truly, you are an orgasm, mine. My soul gives a liberating cry. I grow white wings: I dance, I fly. Nowhere can I see you, But feel your highest beauty. How I can’t touch you! Still lean on you, to eternity. You narrate me supreme love: One like land and sea, in cove. Oh Music! Oh Music Divine! Let’s sway in rhythm and rhyme. -SURAJ (22/08/2011)

Review: Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

Image
If Iron-Man 3 was a pure pop-corn entertainer, this one's where you won't have time to have one! Score: 8/10 I personally am not a fan of the franchisee. But the trailers looked beautiful and so did Benedict in the role of John Harrison. The last Star Trek film wasn't a put off either, giving me no reason to skip this one. Fan or not, you are going to love this. Because it wouldn't confuse the ignorants of the back ground either, since it stands as an independent film where characters and scenes have been explained exactly enough to not overdo, keeping the pace on. Even with the unexpected twists, one as an audience would always know where the outline is headed, which can make it dull. But what clearly over-shadows such shortcomings are the various layers. Just when you think it's all going to be capturing or fighting off John Harrison, you come across the Marcus shade, after that the Harrison betrayal and then the retaining of cryo-pods. Still not to ...

Review: Man of Steel (2013)

Image
Not my expectations of course, but still Enjoyable! Score: 7/10 Man of steel was a fairly enjoyable film. It forms the base very well for the first timers like me to understand the reasons behind the rest of the film. It does not carry a lot of layers though, does not give the characters any depth (other than the protagonist, of course), does not attach a lot of emotional quotient nor does it have any thrilling don't-know-what-next moments. The story is monotonous and sticks to only Clark Kent and how he becomes Superman. But these short comings do not really harm the film since it always maintains a healthy pace. The first half contains a lot of choppy editing which may not go down well with the viewers since every time one would be about to settle in a scene, it cuts to flash back or the present time. They could have had just one such scene or may be two, and instead gone for some linear drama among the characters for us to feel sympathetic of the grave situation...

Review: Killing Them Softly (2012)

Image
Nails It Better Than "Softly" Score: 9/10 Director Andrew Dominik returns with a bang after five years in a fine exhibition of stylish yet technically powerful movie-making. Right from the start, the movie keeps the viewers glued to its scenes of raw roughness shot absorbingly by Greig accompanied with music of hip and class, at right places that blends well with the overall personality of the movie, a rowdy-cold production. The fine performances particularly from Brad Pitt as Jackie Cogan, a person of style and substance and Ben Mendelsohn as Russel, the drug addict, lifts the film up to many levels. There are some long conversation scenes which can probably give the viewers some time to scratch their heads and elsewhere, but looking at them with critical eyes, they seem well fit. The screenplay is smooth and does get funny at some places in a dry sorta way. In all, this one looks like a strong contender for this year's Oscars. Killing Them Softly defini...

Review: Iron Man 3 (2013)

Image
Clearly the best yet from Marvels! Score: 8/10 Iron Man was more of a follow-up to " The Avengers " than Iron Man 2 , not just by dates but also by creative expression. It starts nicely with 1999 New Year's eve which becomes the back bone of the story that develops. It has a beautiful mixture in right proportions of drama, humour (very enjoyable and subtle ones) and of course the blasts, instead of just sticking to one tone of seriousness or coolness. Shane Black's taken a bold step by moving out of the clichés and creating something which has some very innovative moments of "Superhero Rescue", Iron Man (s) sky spectacle and a couple unpredictable twists. Everyone's played their part very well, though Sir Ben Kingsley clearly needs a special mention for his amazing portrayal of Mandarin. The character builds its image of unstoppable terror such wonderfully with Kingsley's unique oration style that one might start thinking that if he c...
